We are recruiting for a Commercial Finance Director to join our Finance Team here at IPL based at our Normanton Head Office.
As the Commercial Finance Director you will support the Managing Director, Group Finance Director and the IPL Board to define, evaluate and execute the IPL Strategy. Day to day accountability for a team of Finance business partners supporting the Commercial and Procurement leaders of the business. Lead the FP&A team to ensure business decisions and performance are optimized for all stakeholders.
Key accountabilities will include:
Finance support to the IPL Board, Managing Director and Group Finance Director
• Work with the IPL Board to evaluate the financial implications of IPL’s Strategy and Change agenda
• Work alongside any third party consultants engaged during the creation of the strategy to ensure there is effective internal knowledge and challenge brought to the process.
• Support any commercial evaluations and negotiations required to implement new ventures
• This role will then be key in facilitating the execution of the change initiatives to ensure they deliver maximum value to IPL.
• Whilst the key customers of this role are the Managing Director, Commercial Director and Group Finance Director this role will also work closely with the Procurement, Operations and Logistics Directors
• Ensure that the financial impacts of the Strategy are fully understood and owned by all stakeholders and embedded properly in financial plans
IPL Group FP&A
• You will provide financial leadership for the 3 year and 1 year planning process; defining the process, ensuring Corporate targets and goals are met, presentation to the IPL Board and submission into ASDA
• Lead across the IPL finance team and be responsible for accurate in month forecasting and reporting to ASDA of IPL’s financial performance
• Ensure that the Anaplan agenda remains live in IPL Group.
Finance business partner support to Commercial and Procurement leaders within the business
• Senior leadership of a commercial finance team of 15 providing decision support to IPLs Commercial and Procurement team
• Key member of the Finance leadership team
What are we looking for?
Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA) OR MBA with >7 years of post-qualified experience in Finance roles
Essential:
• Ability to operate at a Board level
• Finance business partnering experience with ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal business customers
• Experience working within a challenging environment working to tight timelines
• Excellent critical and analytical thinking
• Self - starter with a high level of motivation for driving performance of the business, the team and themselves
• Excellent communicator at all levels
• Strong leaderships skills and experience of leading a team
• Attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills (MS Excel) and presentation skills (MS PowerPoint)
Desirable:
• Strategic Planning and FP&A experience
• Experience of working within a manufacturing, FMCG or Retail environment
