Series of assessments which could include verbal, numerical or excel online assessments
IPL, Forza & Kober Recruitment team will shortlist all applicants for next stage
Depending upon the scheme, you may be invited to a face to face interview or assessment centre
You can expect a competency based interview exploring your prior experience and expertise. In order to prepare for your interview, we recommend that you research the STAR technique
You can anticipate a group of attendees where the day will consist of welcome introductions and a presentation, group exercises and a face to face interview

The IPL graduate scheme has been full of great opportunities to work in various exciting roles within different business units, each with their own unique specification to help you develop and discover which roles are best suited for your own strengths & preferences. The apprenticeship which the scheme offers is a massive help in progressing through your professional exams as quickly as possible, allowing you time within your working week to study, which really helps with getting the hours under your belt as well as a great work/life balance. I am a Trainee Buyer undergoing the 2 year Commercial Management Scheme (CMS) at IPL. I am coming to the end of my time on the scheme having experienced placements in Buying, Planning, Logistics, Operations and Stores. The scheme is a very good way to immerse yourself in various roles across the business, building a commercial awareness of how the business and industry operates. It provides an opportunity to see how various different business units work together to provide quality produce to the Asda customer. CMS connects the dots from field to store. The scheme enabled me to travel to different countries, speaking to suppliers and observing how their operations work, a rare opportunity. I recommend this scheme to anyone trying to pursue a role/career in procurement. George

The HR graduate scheme has enhanced my understanding of all areas of the business. Through project involvement I have gained a wide network of contacts. My last graduate placement in operations secured my career path as a permanent HR Advisor. During the graduate scheme, I chose to complete the CIPD Level 7 Senior People Professional Apprenticeship, which has been registered through IPL. This has widened my HR knowledge since completing my degree and enhances my performance in the workplace. I am due to complete this course later this year and will be continued to be supported by IPL. Georgina
