Engineering

Our Engineers plays a vital role in ensuring our manufacturing operations run smoothly and to their full potential. They support our Production teams by addressing and fixing faults with machinery, proactively carrying out preventative maintenance as well as giving recommendations on ways to improve throughput. Without their support, we wouldn’t be able to pack 220,000 of punnets of grapes every day and slice hundreds of bacon joints every week.

Hygiene

When it comes to food safety, nothing is more important than cleanliness. Our factories must uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in order to maintain the integrity and quality of our products. Our Hygiene teams specialise in the deep cleaning of our manufacturing areas to prevent contamination, improve efficiency and extend the life of our machines. The team also look after our waste management process and with their support, we are able to recycle our waste materials and convert our food waste into energy.

Operations Planning

Planning is a critical process in our operation to ensure efficiency. The team work to Asda sales forecasts and are responsible for ensuring all the necessary preparation is completed before a production shift begins, in order for us to meet our service level targets. This involves effectively allocating our raw materials and resources in accordance with ‘first in first out’ rule so that everything is ready to go. They also focus on putting together efficient labour schedules to ensure we have the right number of colleagues on our production lines for any given shift.

Ripening

Our dedicated Ripening teams are responsible for managing the stock levels and quality of all our bananas which are allocated for ripening, from arrival on site to despatch. In our state of the art ripening facilities, they implement best practice, industry standards and ensure ripening targets are met in accordance with customer demands and in the safest, most efficient manner.
