We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager - R2R and Treasury to join the IPL Finance division. This is an exciting time to be joining IPL as we support Asda on their journey to becoming #2 in the market.
As the Finance Manager - R2R and Treasury you will be accountable for the overall management of the Group Record to Report (R2R) and Treasury functions, ensuring complete and accurate monthly profit, loss, and balance sheet reporting. You will also own the group treasury activities (including cash management, forecasting, intercompany loans and risk management as well as foreign exchange.
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, Hybrid working is available with minimum of 3 office days required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• You will be an integral part of the Group R2R and Controllership leadership team.
• Consistently leading, developing and supporting a team of finance analysts in line with our culture and values.
• Regular business partnering with other teams internally and within the wider Asda Group on financial reporting and treasury activities.
• Point of contact for internal and external audit activities and supporting the FCPA monitoring teams on control testing and any control issue remediation (SOX, FCPA) in relevant areas.
Record to Report – R2R
• Full responsibility for the gatekeeping and oversight of the period end close for the Group, coordinating site Finance teams to ensure a clean and effective three day close.
• Ownership of key central financial reporting processes (including Cash, Accruals, Prepayments, Intercompany, Recharges, Open / Close periods etc.). At all times ensuring compliance with relevant accounting policies and driving continual improvement in finance processes and control.
• Reviewing data within Dynamics 365 (D365) to ensure it is complete and accurate and production of periodic profit and loss accounts by business unit to allow timely analysis of financial performance by the Commercial Finance, Controllership and FP&A teams.
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team to ensure all balances are understood, adequately supported and accurate. This includes all bank reconciliations.
Treasury
• Daily allocation of all cash transactions and bank account reconciliations for all bank accounts
• Cash management activities to guarantee sufficient operational liquidity at all times, funding the Asda cash pool whilst optimising returns from surplus cash (including treasury deposits) and supporting intergroup dividend payments.
• Manage both short-term and long-term cash forecasts, ensuring alignment with other balance sheet forecasting processes.
• Accurate forecasting and monitoring of foreign exchange outflows (EUR and USD + other) and liaison with Asda to support the purchase of derivatives in line with the Group’s hedging policy.
• Ensuring any manual bank payments are correctly authorised in line with control procedures. This includes ensuring all overseas payroll payments are made on time.
• Point of contact for external banking partners and effective horizon scanning on changes that may affect the Group’s treasury activities, accounting or disclosure.
• Responsible for working capital and financial risk governance including monthly Treasury reporting to the Group Financial Director and representing IPL as part of the wider Asda cash forums.
What are we looking for?
• Fully Qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant
• Must have held a similar role within R2R and/or Treasury.
• Strong analytical skills, driving insight from the data.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge on working with integrated ERP systems.
• An inquisitive / growth mind-set, prepared to provide constructive challenge.
• Adaptable to change and uncertainty.
• Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
• Professional leadership of a small team and as part of a wider function.
• Team player – who can work under own initiative and able to effectively coach others.
