We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Ripener to become a vital part of our onsite Ripening Team at our Fresh Produce packing facility in Sittingbourne. If you are passionate and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you!
Position Details:
• Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday, 7am - 3:45pm
• Location: IPL Sittingbourne, this is a site-based role
• Contract Type: Permanent
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Ripening bananas according to Asda orders and the quality of stock.
• Make decisions on the most effective and efficient use of the bananas.
• Provide the Business Unit and Senior Product Manager with accurate and timely information to communicate to the grower.
• Liaise with the Business Unit, Technical and Quality on all aspects of banana quality and ripening process.
• Provide advice to all colleagues who are involved in the process of supplying the bananas to Asda.
• Flexible working inclusive of Intake Inspections and line Inspections across all categories.
• Maintaining adequate stock levels to ensure optimum Ripening Programs are achieved and are as efficient as possible.
• Ensure shelf life is conducted; data recorded and implement corrective actions.
• Assist on In loading maintaining KPI’s
• Deputise for Ripening Supervisor when required.
What are we looking for?
• Proven experience of working within Operations/Factory/Production site ideally with in a supervisory role.
• Relevant experience of working within a fast paced environment in a similar role
• Good working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
• IT literate
• Experience of working to targets
• Excellent priority management
• Ability to develop good working relationships and good communication skills
• Problem solving and root cause analysis skills
